Ive searched and it seems that no one has the same problem as i do. When i installed an aftermarket head unit i blew a fuse, this fuse was for the tail lights to be on not the brake light that one worked fine. The problem now is that my dash lights or any ac controls or the spot where it says what gear im in(auto tranny) wont turn on, but what makes it different is that when i dont have my exterior lights turned on i have a little illumination behind my odometor reading but when i turn my exteriors on it turns off. is it a possible short? I checked all fuses under hood passenger and driver side. no blown fuses. this evening i took out the dash and checked all bulbs none of which are blown. Ive read that it could be a multiplexer but have no idea what it looks like. if it helps i have a 6th gen 2001 accord lx. I was thinking about just taking it to the dealer because at night i cant see anything and its becoming a real problem. i just dont want to have to end up paying lots of money if there is a simple solution. Please help.

 

sounds like the wiring with the aftermarket head unit fucked everything up, I would take all the aftermarket wiring out, and see if that helps, that should fix the problem since it does seem like its shorting out

 

I did take the headunit out and i put the stock radio in still no lights.

 

Make sure the Dimmer swith is pluged in...If not check and see if any of the relays are lose
