You do not mention the Make, Model, or Year of your trans/car. In any case, it is best to consult your Owners' Manual for the correct information. There is always some fluid caught in the torque converter, so a complete drain of existing fluid is impossible. Most owners will drain/fill then drive and do one or more drain/fill steps.

um.. you can get a powerflush.. but of course everyone has there opinions on that.
But to the OP, i only used 5 when i did mine and it helped alot. Just remember to put in a little less than you take out for the trapped fluid, and to check the dipstick after. My car shifts alot smoother now.. and i have a 96 lx auto so its the same thing.

3 bottles is what honda recommends and thats how much the dealerships use....you can just keep the other 2 that you dont use
I did mine the other day and it took 3 qts to refill. Then again, I made sure it was warmed up and took my time to let it drain.
Good choice on using the Honda fluid. The first time I did, I used the generic Dexron III and it didn't feel right.

oh yeah, 3 is what you need for one drain and refill.. but i did that twice. Your supposed to do it 3 times to get most of it out, but hey my shifts so much smoother with just 2 and i had over 110k on the fluid before it was changed.
Not reading the thread but I'm assuming your talking about the car in your accord in your signature. Drain and fill with three bottles. Drive for a couple of days and while your out pick up one more bottle from Honda. Drain and fill again and you should be good. If your doing this to fix some kind of slipping problem and not just as routine maintnence all I can say is good luck.

wanted to kno if you can help me out. i got a 95 accord ex automatic. Im trying to drain nd refill the transmission. can you tell me how to drain it? what to remove? Where it is? I'd really appreciate it, thanks
all accord 4cyl auto 1990-2002, 3qts - 12oz is drain/refill amount. tip: leave 12 in the first bottle, so that if you leave less than 12 oz in the bottle you can just top it off with one of the remaining bottles.
i can't remember if the V6 is a hair more, but i think it is. doen't matter here.
enjoy.
