I'm thinkin of buyin my friend's complete swap [Searched]
My friend, who owns a 99 EX coupe, just got into a major accident cuz some idiot didn't see the red light. Anyways....I have a 95 DX hatch auto, and I'm thinkin of buying the motor, tranny, the complete assembly from him to convert my auto to manual. I was just wondering how much should I offer him? And where would I get the paper work to hs engine?
Oh yea my bad...forgot to put up the miles.....I think it's at 96,000, I'm not sure. But I do remember it being in the 90s. And it runs perfect, maintainence done regularly, no noise or problems what so ever. Completely unmodded.

come on $350??? It is at least worth $450 or so. With only 9X,XXX miles it will last as long as you need it to until you can get a real swap. Plus if he is your friend you don't want to screw him over.
yeah but u will have to change plugs and change the dizzy. and a few other thing unless u wanna convert to obd2 which is absolutly useless.
and come on people. d16a6's go for 500 with 150k miles around here

you can get a jdm sohc vtec with ~40k miles for what you are asking for your 90k mile usdm motor.

exactly. And have fun getting the right ignition maps on the p28!
stock p28 + stock d16y8 = improper ignition tables. And people wonder why these setups don't last long..

I had the option of buying a d16y8 for $200 bucks. And I even have a low mileage high volume oil pump to correct the shitty 96-00 oil pump issue. I found out what all had to be done to get it PROPERLY running with obd1. And I said the hell with it, and I opted to spend 400 more to get a jdm d15b.
