what is the h22 header made of?
as the topic states...what is it made of, and can it be polished to make it look better. Im pretty sure my f22 header is cast iron, but i dont think my h22 is...is it stainless steel?
Funny you ask, because I polished mine up today to clean up the engine bay until I get something better. It's definately made of cast iron, and it's fairly easy getting down to the raw metal with some coarse sand paper and a dremel tool with grinding bit. To make it even easier, spray and rub on some rust remover to get the top layer of rust off.

i was actually saying whats up to blake, but anyway. the standard h22 manifold is cast, and the jdm is supposed to have the tubular primaries unlike the US cast primary section. besides if the mani was stainless it wouldn't rust as easy as it does. thats why you never hear of a crack stock header, and why they have the heat shield. it gets too damn hot cuz cast iron dissapates heat so fast.

hes giving bad info and for someone w/ that many post and soooo much **** done to his car, he should know better than that. the JDM manifolds were for the type S and are tubular steel, most likely mild steel and supposedly had polished inlets and collector.

which USDM h22s have cast exhaust manifolds????
after 2 years in a honda only salvage yard, a year managing a honda only repair shop, and 5+ years of doign swaps....every single h22 manifold i have ever seen is tubular, and if its not stainless or something like it i would be shocked.
