RSX base exhaust fit question.
Their is an exhaust i want to buy but it only has an option for a type S. will it fit into a base model as well or just onto the type S.
That exhaust will not fit your base. You will need an adaptor for it to fit on your base (basicly just an extra piece of pipe). So here are your options:
1. Some companies make an adaptor for the exhaust so that it can fit (but as you said, in your first post, the exhaust is just optioned for the Type-S)
2. You can take it to a local muffler shop and they can make you an adaptor
3. You can switch out your stock base exhaust manifold and swap it out for a Type-S so that the exhaust can fit.
Hope that answers your question.

Or,
You could get a Type-S specific header & cat section, whether you get OEM parts or aftermarket. You'd also need a Type-S header-to-block bracket -- the A3 engine (base RSX or EP3) has a four-bolt bracket while the A2 motor/header uses a two-bolt bracket.
I posted up an install thread about a Fujitsubo catback onto my EP, and it's got info you could use; it's in the archived search.
