OEM clutch replacement by acura?
who has had their clutch replaced by acura with a new OEM one? how much did it set you back? I'm gonna need a clutch soon, and want to see if i'd be better off doing it myself with an aftermarket clutch
you're better off doing it yourself, it will probably wind up being cheaper, parts wise and the labor you can save by making a project out of it
Labor rates for a clutch install can't be all that favorable

I just had mine done. The OE parts quote was about $500, the ACT from Comptech option was $550 for comparison (it's cheaper at the Comptech web site, though shipping would have to be added). I chose an Exedy from clutchcityonline.com, which was $295 shipped 2nd day. They (my dealer) charged a bit under $500 to put it in, didn't need to machine the flywheel.
I decided to try aftermarket because my original clutch failed at 27k, and the replacement OE failed at 74k. So I'm hoping the Exedy will be more durable.

This might be a dumb question... but.... isn't the clutch covered under warranty...??? I thought the whole drivetrain is covered under warranty or is just mine..??

I'm not sure how long, but I think the dealer told me that it's all covered... he said that the only thing that they don't cover are the tires, which has a limited warranty and is only through Bridgestone, and the brake pads because everyone brakes differently... but other than that they told me that everything else is covered... from the little things like the speakers to the paint if it was fading.... not sure on how things work, but that's what the dealers told me....
I think brakes, clutch, and tires are only covered for 12 months or 12K miles.
