Default I learned something interesting today about the RSX.....

I was dropping my four year old daughter to her mother's so she can take her to school this morning.

It was 7:15am and she was still sleeping so i just put her in the front seat ( i have a baby seat but i didn't want to wake her up) The trip is just 5 min from where i live.

anyway as i was driving the passenger side airbag light came on stating it was off. I was like wtf. At the same time my daughter moved trying to get comfortable in her sleep and the light came off for like 10 seconds then came back on

I so realized that the rsx must have some sort of weight sensor in the passenger seat to tell if a small child is in the seat inorder to turn off the side air bag in the seat.

I just came back from class and it hasn't come on and this was the first time that light has come on while driving since i've had the car (since the middle of may)

By any chance was she leaning towards the door? I ask because thats where the sensor is. Sometimes if I lean on the drivers side to hard the light comes on. Thats probably what happened!

its a safty feature so the airbag doesn't cause more damage to the person than help them. When weight is shifted either left or right in the chair (like say leaning out the window).

I asked Acura a while back about it cause I wanted to know how it works. If it sences enough weight in the seat to merit being a person it will activate the air bag, however if the weight shifts toward the dash, window or center of the car it will disengage to prevent it causeing more damge deploying with the passenger in a bad postion.

all type-s has a little woofer (you cant really call it a subwoofer because it sucks) in the spare tire. Lift up your rug and look for yourself..
