Rev Limiter?????? Impossible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 00 gsr with a t3/t4 turbo, running 6psi, with stock injectors-(i have RC440 injectors and UR ss pulley set i'm installing this week), Tial FMU with all stock internals.
When my car gets between 5k and 5.5k rpms my car feels as if my rev limiter comes on, and i'm forced to switch gears. But my car dosn't redline untill 8k.
I heard it might be low oil so i checked it and it was slightly low so i added a half quart and ran my car down a straight away and the problem re-occured.
I took my plugs out and they looked fine, but how can i go about testing my wires, rotor, distributor cap, and coil????
If these things above are all fine what else could cause this problem or do you think it defintly is involved with the list above.

i also bought a greddy timing belt that is being installed with my ur pulleys, if the problem is in my timing when my engine is re-timed after the new belt install will the problem be correct?????

My thoughts as well...

What are you using to tune? chipped ecu? hondata? and is your MAP sensor seeing boost? I know you need to do something in the vac lines to keep the stock MAP from seeing boost or you will have problems.

Sounds like timing belt's off or something's wrong with the FMU, and you're not getting enough gas.

My guess is since he's using an FMU he doesn't have any chipped ecu or anything that can be tuned.

im gonna guess he's maxed out the injectors and they dont like any higher revs. I bet in first gear you can take it to redline though.
It shouldn't matter what gear he's in should it? It's gonna be related to the quantity of gas going through the injectors, this is more dependent on throttle position and RPM, not really vehicle speed.

Not quite, you can run quite a bit of boost on stock injectors .. knock on wood, lol.

stock injectors are good up untill 300 hp...i doubt hes makin that much power. i stil believe its def not the timing either, its gotta be the amount of fuel thats not being compensated or he still doesnt have a "misssing link" to trick the ecu into thinking theres no boost. id say go for a good tune
I'd say its his distributor. My friend had the same problem. Swap it with a friend to find out.
Being able to rev to 6k rpm isn't limp mode. Limp mode will keep you stuck under about 1500 and will seem like it's choking.
do you have a checkengine light on. are you making sure your car is warming up before you run it hard. what motor do you have?
I am guessing you have a gsr. if you don't wait until the motor is fully warmed up. it will only rev to 5.5 or 6.5.

no i always let my car run for 5 min before i even put it in gear.
Yes my check engine light is on, but it has been like that ever since i got my turbo kit installed about a year ago, the shop that installed the kit said that it came on because of the atmosperic pressure involing my bov

code? code? code? code? code? code? code? code? code? code? code? code? code?
before you ask anymore questions. let us know what the code is. we can help you alot if we know what the car is trying to tell you.
maybe hes just low on oil and VTEC refuses to engage... anybody think of that?
beign that low would throw a CEL, however your CEL is already on, so you wouldnt know
