I just bought a 89' Prelude SI, and I have some questions. I noticed when I am driving at about 70 mph, the RPM's are at 3.5, closer to 4, is this normal? The RMP's seem too high to me.

Also, can anyone suggest how I can change the yellow fog lights to white, without changing the OEM fog lights? I noticed that the OEM fog lights have a yellow glass within the actual fog light, so regardless if I install white bulbs, it still illuminates yellow light, and I prefer white light. Any suggestions?

 

The Si's tranny has fairly short gears... so that is normal.

And you can try to open up the fog and remove the yellow covering. If that doesn't work then you will have to change out the OE fogs with similar ones with white lights

 

Thanks for the quick reply darkspector. Last question. Does anyone know a place in the Los Angeles area where they still us R12 AC freon?

 

As far as the High rpm, that is normal. As for the clear fogs, you will have to get aftermarket ones.
