Default A/c question

If you do a fresh motor swap, then put on the compressor and just fill it up with 2 cans of freon without vaccuming the system, what happens?

I have read on another forum that vaccuming the system is not needed. I do not know what COULD happen but as someone said they did it without vaccuming it.

If you did not open the system by removing the compressor and or any lines or other AC components you are fine. Otherwise you are leaving moisture and other contaminants into the system and they will wreak havoc and destroy the system. When ever you open an AC system up you must replace any worn or damaged parts, always must replace the dryer, and have the system evacuated and vacume tested for 30 minutes to ensure there are no leaks and that all contaminants are removed from the system.

Of course it can be done w/o evacuating the system, ive always been told to evacuate the system everytime you add refrigerent. If you dont you are leaving moisture and compressor oil in the system which is usually already in those little cans you buy at advanced auto so you'll have too much in the system. recover, evacuate, charge and you'll have colder and longer AC.
