Default brand name intake or not

Does it really matter if I get a AEM CAI or a K&N intake. Intakes to me all seem the same, tubing and a cotton filter.

Yea if you buy a cheap intake you will definatly notice the difference in quality and stuff. My friend has a K&N and he loves it. AEM is pretty good too. I always said its best to get the more quality/expensive parts to save money in the future for when the shitty one fails

Also, if you need more ideas check out this months Modified Magazine because there is about five pages of intakes and different brands.... They are for certain makes and models, but they give you an idea on what companies.
