87 octane anything more will result in a LOSS of performance.
J30a has no method of advancing/retarding the timing based upon octane of fuel (engine lacks a knock sensor). You will not get better MPG or performance.
If you have an engine pinging when you are using 87 you need to get the problem corrected.......
