the h22 trannys speed sensor has these 2 hoses on it what are they for? (shown on right side of pic)

The VSS on that tranny was also used as a pump for something else in the prelude. People that swap the H series into the F23 uses the F23 VSS. It should give you the proper MPH.

That VSS is actually called a power steering speed sensor. It is controlled hydraulically.

I think I remember B_ron (don't remember his exact sn) saying he has to swap to the H22 VSS in order to get his speedo to read correctly. I don't have any experience with this, so take my post with a grain of salt.

would the speed sensor be gearing relative? Due to the difference in gearing the speed sensor might be off, as the h22 trans has much different gear ratios from gear to gear, that box is Speed sensative power steering. use the h22 speed sensor...and you should be fine.

dam shiney clean that bitch !!!! BTW, those two hoses connect to the powerstearing on preludes. You need to loop them before you install the tranny. Use your F22 vss. It should be fine. Also, if the tranny was sitting for a while, it will be stuborn the first 50 miles or so till the oil gets all up in it. Once installed....YOU"LL LOVE IT !!!! Thats an H22 tranny ? not H23 right ? If so you'll have a new top speed of 115 mph. H23 Top speed is 126

if you use a calculator, in 5th gear you should be going 122 at only 6100 rpm
