5 door hybrid - when avail in USA?
Hi - newbie here.
Does anyone know when the 5 door hybrid sport will be available in the USA?
Am I correct that it is already for sale in Canada?
Is it possible to purchase the car in canada and bring it to the us?
Will I be hit with import taxes? Etc??? Will I be required to make any modifications due to govt regulations?
Hey I said I was a newbie!!!
Thanks in advance everyone.

lol wtup homeboy. i dont think the hybrid will come 2 the U.S b/c honda is gonna stop producing hybrids b/c of their high cost to make it. the fit gets 38mpg anyways.
Honda does not have a 5 door hybrid or Fit Hybrid anywhere to my knowledge.
Honda currently makes 3 hybrids for the US. Hybrid Civic, Hybrid Accord, and Insight.
The Insight will be discontinued this year. While it is the MPG leader, it is too small and too impratical. It lacks feature content and is also unsafe. It only has front airbags.
The Hybrid Civic is selling very well. Honda will keep producing it.
The Hybrid Accord is not selling well at all. It is a power hybrid and it's lack of MPG for more HP isn't a tradeoff that buyers are willing to commit to. Honda has stated that it will reduce production of it. The Accord will be entering its next generation soon (this fall?) and I have a feeling that Honda will make the Accord Hybrid more mileage oriented. So I4+IMA instead of V6+IMA.
Honda CEO Takeo Fakui has stated that Honda will be coming out with a new "dedicated hybrid". He said it would be priced below the current Civic Hybrid and that it will be sufficient as "family vehicle". So it will be probably be a 5 door hatchback, but by what the CEO said it doesnt seem like it will be a Fit Hybrid. He said it would come out in 2009.
