Default 11" fast brakes WILWOOD brake kit 15" wheel fitment question... yes ive searched A LOT .

hi,
ive been searching for two days but cant really find a straight foward answer.

i came across a good local deal for 11" wilwood brake kit for my em1 which sits on 15" GT3s.
from what ive read it is suppost to fit most 15s but i want to be sure. i printed out the template from stoptech which is very similar to but the not the same diameters as the wilwood kit.

does anyone have any helpful info? also if anyone has this kit, is it worth it? . my car sees daily driving and some autox.
ive read of people talking about rebuilding them yearly, but others say that the seals dont go bad that easily.

please dont tell me to get gsr brakes instead since they will do the same as my si setup will. try to help me out with the question that ive asked

stick with your stock brake setup....you know you can go with ep3 rotors...there 10.3 inches i think the gsr and si rear discs are 9.4...for your fronts get get some oem sized brembo's...with good pads...

I was going to buy that kit, from fast brakes, and they told me it wouldnt fit with the gt3's because the way the rim is designed(it will fit slips though), they told me to buy the type r brake package instead.

yes your pretty much right im only considering upgrading bc i came across this deal, im not a constant auto Xer or anything, so i probably dont even need them, but ive driven cars with them and they make a big difference. they are 370 for the fast break 11" kit brand new checked them out and everything is new and intact and its local so thats a plus, the only thing holding me back is taht i dont think they will fit

can anyone verify this? .. i just want to be 100 percent sure

this was a reply i got from the wheel/tire forum. i posted the same thread since i wasnt sure which would be best for more accurate responses https://honda-tech.com/zero...30282

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by kaiba &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The fastbrake 11' will fit the GT3 but you'll need to use spacers. And i recommand you get exented studs.

I'm using that exact same set-up but on the rota group N and i'm using 5mm spacer. And on my supermesh i need 6mm to clear.

Hope this help.</TD></TR></TABLE>

so maybe gt3s will fit, but with spacers?

heres the emails from them like a year ago

"The Wilwood 12.2" kit is $700 and will fit some 16" wheels with curved spoke
designs. I don't have a good list of the exact wheels that fit...You can fit
this kit in the 15" Pro Race 1 if I substitute a deeper rotor hat to move
the assembly inward a bit...you'll have to space the caliper inward too, but
I'll provide the spacers..."

"It looks like the GT3 will limit you to the SpecR rotor upgrade due to the
spoke design, although you might be able to fit the small 4 pot caliper
under there.

The SpecR uses the ITR calipers in the stock location and I haven't seen any
aftermarket wheel that wouldn't clear them.
"

So in conclusion theyll fit some 15' with spacers but GT3 's arent one of them.

hmmm very informative thanks SohcPower, thats for the 12.2 rotor kit , the one im looking to purchase is the 11" which might allow a little more clearance. im going to call fast break today during working hours to ask them, they probably will be able to help me. that way i can find the answer to my question and possibly for others with the same question as me will keep you guys updated

and Earthworm Jim, yeah ive been reading up and down and left and right on the fastbrakes site, but im going to call them today like i said above

called them and spoke with someone i believe bryan? didnt really get his name. he was EXTREMELY helpful though . great customer service. he gave me the dimensions i need to make the kit fit with the 15" gt3 . there has to be a horizontal clearance from the front of the rotor to the back of the spokes of 2 inches and a vertical clearance from the edge of the rotor to the inside lip of the rim of 2 inches as well. now this goes both for the old brake kit with no dust seals and the new with the dust seals.

i measured and i need 19mm of clearance which means i would need a 20mm wheel spacer for it to fit.
the biggest spacer you can use w.o extended lug nuts is a 3mm one.

as i read about spacer since earlier i had seen many people put them down. i learned that the road racing guys give them a , but like everything else it has to be done right. its better when its hubcentric, h&r got plenty of good reviews.

you can do all that. or simply get 16s

some 15s he told me would fit were the rota grids, slipstreams, team dynamic wheel, and a few others. but if you have a similar question id suggest calling fastbrakes.com it will solve all your problems!

as for me i decided to use my money towards other parts in my car and not go through the hassle

Just some FYI here - I just fitted ITR calipers on a 95 EX (requires 11" rotors), and its at about a 13" diameter requirement for the inside wheel. GSR Blades are right at 13" inside (15" rim), I might test them soon (as I need something for my car). So - an OEM 15" should work, and the willwood 11" kit should have smaller calipers than stock (so 2 steps below the ITR calipers).

I run the fast brakes 11" front rotors with integra calipers on the front. Bought from fast brakes. I have about a 1/2" clearance between the caliper and rim. I am running SI wheels. It looks sooo clean, perfect fitment. I'll get some photos up tommorrow, gotta find the GF's 10megapixel camera.
