Default How low is the WS2 exhaust for 97-01? UPDATE: Compare to SP2

I've heard that this particular exhaust hangs lower than the factory exhaust. How much lower does it really hang and which part is it that is so low? I'm looking into this exhaust system for it's quiet sound. My 98 is pretty low as it is, I have trouble with speedbumps already, but it is mainly my header that is scraping now. Thanks for the help.

Your car already has problem with speedbumps, then WS will definitely scrape like crazy!

what ^ ^ said is true. The WS2 exhaust hangs pretty low. The part that hangs the lowest is the resonator.

Yeah well I avoid them, but other than that I have no problems, I'm just wondering if I will have trouble in and out of parking lots with the exhaust? Here is an older pic of the car, but still at same ride height if that may help me get some answers.

stupid as it may sound, i have heard some people mention a custom bending of the cat back so that it fits better on the car, is that a possibility?

Has anyone actually modified it on here? So adjusting the hangers might be the right solution, or would I need to modify the curves of the piping so that it doesn't hang so low?

you coudl modify the hanger and that would probably work the best. I'm probably going to leave mine alone until winter when I get a different car to drive because it'll probably take a while to get right.. also you'll need to watch out for the section thaht bolts to the cat because if you bring that up too high, the flex pipe will bend too much and start leaking.

if i modify the hanger too much, will the tip get too close to the rear spoiler, therefore constantly dirtying it, seeing how the car is white?

when they say modify the hanger, they're talkin bout wrapping a zip-tie around the black rubber hanger and pulling it, pulling teh exhaust up higher.

and since there's like 5-8 rubber hangers from the cat back, you can customize it to your preference

i'm lowered 2.25" w/ a WS2... and i scrape it on HUUUUGEEEEE speed bumps. i should get around to the hanger thingy.....

depends on where your muffler tip end and how bad yoru exhaust emissions are. you coudl modify it to fit pretty snug from the cat downb to the axle back joint, but have the muffler sitting however you'd want it to. on my 4th gen all I did was take another rubber hanger and bolt it to the existing one to make extra clearance for my wwrs rear lip and it was perfect. I did this only on the rear divers side hanger. somehow the muffler still ended up hanging parallel to everything.

all i know is i just put on a WS2 several weeks ago and im lowered 1.4 (RS*R) and the resonator scraped like a bitch on it seems like everything, i just had a muffler shop make me some new hangers up by the resonator so it sits higher, now no more scraping.
