Default could i add my cams if....

could i add my cams if i havent chipped the ecu? and.. if i have a vafc2 could i control it that way? i really wanna add my cams but eeryone says wait till i chip the ecu.. what do ya think?

actually, the way i thought it was is, you first add cams then you chip it so it is tuned and all, also are you just going to put cams in it and nothing else changed? Im wondering because I would like to change my camshaft also with crower 403

yes it can be tuned with the vafc...but because cams are so picky with ignition timing AND fuel...you wont see good results because piggybacks arent independent of ignition settings with fuel...(you lean you advance...you richen you retard, thats the only way itll let you adjust)

you sure can do it, it obviously depends on wat cams your planning in using.
tuning is a must to get max power out of them.

stock maps run pretty rich up to so you have a pretty big window to play

ok, so if i add my cams, dont chip the ecu, what should i do with my vafc2 to help it run ok. ?

sell it and get crome and a wideband.

then youll be able to do something about it. VAFC is a very very crude but bling bling way to kinda tune your AF only.
tuning timing is where the money is at.

exactly...fuel tuning not independent of ignition is kinda obsolete...
