I made one out of wood for testing.. don't do it, wood shakes to much. The one on S and M works good... but beware of the whips and chains.

from what I could tell it is a site devoted to two autocrossers and thier cars

 

This camera mount may be autocross legal, but track ILLEGAL due to the camera being so close to your head.
Also, I don't like the idea of having a metal bar so close to my neck. Crazy stuff can happen on a track and somehow that bar may come in contact with your body during an accident.

I would try and fabricate something that mounts on the upper rear seatbelt mounting holes. Some companies already make a bar for that location ( http://www.stable-energies.com/stable/shoulder.html )

Stableenergies.com is where I got mine, mounts to the b pillar, great camera spot! You can keep you seat belt too if you don't have harnesses.
