I have a 01 gsr and this problem just started when you are going down the road and you hit the gas the car acts like it is hitting the rev limiter. The only time i can get it to do it is when i am like lugging a little bit and give it more gas it starts doing this. I dont have a clue what it is but i need help fixing the problem. The car runs fine when if your not lugging but i can barely be lugging not enough to shift down and give it gas and it does this

 

mine dose the same thing. like your just luggin it and all of a sudden it jumps like it got no fuel.. freakin anoying. whatsyour set up?

 

It has 2.5 catback on it 4 to 1 header and a intake its also lowered and 8.5mm wires

 

same problem here with an LS

 

change the spark plugs. clean your injectors.

 

Not sure, but try tightening your throttle cable... It gave me a better throttle response so I would try that...

 

If its not the trottle cable (like in my case) change the spark plugs!!!
Worked for me

 

spark plugs, fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor. It's a start. So basically a minor tune-up.
