INSIGHT DRL installed on usdm headlights, need help
I got the drl system a few months back. looking into using it for the high beams only. i have jdm cb headlights. my low beam is only the low beam same goes for the high beam . both h4plugs have 2 wires. unlike the normal h3 plugs that have 3 wires. hase anybody done this before. i have the wiring diagram.
Huh? What year Accord do you have? Let's start there cuz I have no idea what you wrote other than you dunno how to install the DRL.
Ok, so the JDM headlights are one-piece from what I understand. Now from your description, you're saying that the low beam AND highbeam are each H4's? Now you have a DRL kit that what? clips onto the H4 beam is that it? And there is only 2 wires coming out of that correct? If that is it then it has nothing to do with the H4 bulbs and wires. What you do is you connect one wire to a ground and the other to a power source of your choice. You can connect it to your parking lights or whatever.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm having a hard time understanding your exact situation from your description.

ok basically i want to have my high beams on while driving. just like you see with cars on the road. then go off when you turn on the parking or headlights. i have h4 style plugs both with 2 wires instead of 3 wires. you got it?
ANYONE?
ANYONE?
H4's have 3 wires, are you sure you don't have H7's? the two look pretty similar. but for what you are talking about, you are going to need to use a relay to run power off the ignition to the highbeams and then and then wire it to the lowbeams so that when you turn on the low beams, it cuts off the power to the higbeams DRL.
If you do not know how to do relay and electrical wire ups then I would suggest you either read alot about this or not do it or get a kit which I think either pilot sells or there is a company if you google called Daytime Running lights or something.
Good luck.

jdm cb headlights are H1 highs and H4 lows, with only one of the h4 filaments being used (so 2 out of 3 pins).
larry you said you have my diagram? you need a pair of new H4 (or universal 3-pin) headlight connectors so you can connect to all 3 pins of the H4, and follow the diagram...

Let me just add that DRL systems do NOT use high beams at full power. The lights are dimmed to around half power, because even during the daytime high beams can be somewhat blinding to look at. (Also keep in mind that the high beams are aimed higher up, directly into the eyes of oncoming traffic.)

you might run into a little problem if you try to install a DRL system and wants to run the DRL on the high. it might just trigger only the low even tho you hook up the module to the high. that what happen to my accord.

thats inevitably what happens, being that hondas use a ground switched wiring system... never got around to figuring it out, since ive always ran JDM headlights, which allowed me to make the diagram above (which wouldnt work with 9005/9006 bulbs in USDM housings)

That is the reasoning for DRL systems. So you don't supply full power to burn up the headlights faster (so they last longer).

what the hell is the point of having DRL's...... or even driving with your headlights on during the day , i consider people who do this partial ricers. because it is POINTLESS , save your bulbs.

I think you're ignorant if you can't figure out that having lights on during the day helps others to see your car, it's a statistical fact. Read up some time. Speaking of ricers, is that a eBay "chip" listed in your "mods"?

someplaces, like my area for example, headlights on/drl during daytime hours are manditory for many sections of highway, and result in a fine/ticket when pulled over for not using them.

research things before you make strong claims/judgements about them. http://www.iihs.org/research/qanda/drl.html
i personally like the idea, while i no longer have DRLs hooked up, i usually drive with my headlights on. anything thats free/cheap that helps protect my investment even a little bit ill do... last thing i need is an old half-blind old lady not noticing my car while shes making a turn in front of me.
like knightmare69 said, its a statistically proven fact that having driving lights turned on during the day helps reduce accidents.
