Default trying to track down hatch leak...are there seams on the roof?

the drivers side of the back of my 90 hatch leaks. I have been unable to trace the leak. i cleared the sunroof drain lines on both sides. the water fills the pocket in the plastic the the hatch cover clips in. I can see it dripping down where the handle to pop out the back window is. where is this water coming from?

i bought a new seal for the rear driver window from honda but it doesn't fit, i tried putting it in about 5 times and its too big. triple checked the part numbers and its the right one. im hesitant to buy another seal b/c i dont know what that one hasn't worked.

where is this water coming from? tried using a hose to find out but to no avail

its leaking from higher up than the taillights i believe, since it drips thru where the window handle is

Ok, I have a similar problem in my CRX. Water drips on the inside on top of passenger seats. it crips from the sides, from the trunk shock mounts. I know this because I removed the liner and plastics. Before that it would just run down in to the back, and into the wheel weel.

It came down to be a crack in the roof!! On both sides of the roof, right after the weather strip there is some kind of filler between the body panels. It has cracked. I could barely see it because the trunk would cover it. I just scraped some, and covered it wiyh silicone.. done. ;-)

hmmm, sounds lke that could be my problem, im not sure what you mean by "after the weather stripping" . under it? should i take the strip off on either sides and check for leaks? how is it attached, is it easy to replace?

The weather strips can be removed by simply taking a flat head screw driver and gently pulling up under the stripping. It's easier to start from the back because the weather stripping from the front windshield often covers the front. I want to say there is some little metal tabs on each side of the stripping.
