what the best chip?
Universal "performance" chips are the biggest joke around. Every motor is unique. For the best performance, get any P28, P72, P06, etc ECU, an OBD2 to OBD1 harness, have the ECU socketed and chipped, then bring it to a tuner to get it tuned for YOUR unique motor.
do not get a universal chip! that is the biggest mistake that people make. every motor is different, and the universal chip will not tend to your motors needs. do what bb_one said, and get a obd1 p72 ecu so that you will still have the knock sensor function, and functioning IABs as well. find a local shop that can do dyno tuning and see what kind of programs they can tune with. most shops should be able to do hondata. but if they can tune crome, then you will save money since crome is FREE and just as good as hondata.

Except for the chrome being as good a hondata

if price isn't an issue then get a hondata s300 or AEM EMS or even a Apexi EMU( i believe that is right) Basically, you get what you pay for, If price isn't an issue. I just don't believe in alot of those chiping companys unless it is a real spoon sports ecu that came chiped by spoon. but those are hard to come by i think( i havn't checked in a while.)
Good Luck to you.
