Default Cooling Fan Question; 5th Gen Prelude

Vehicle: 97 Base, stock setup.

Noticed tonight the Temp Gauge went 3/4 hot, Popped the hood and found only one fan on with the A/C going. Turned off A/C and still only one moving....

Means...? Radiator fan still good, Condensor fan bad? Make car run hot when using a/c?

If that means a bad condensor fan Where should be my first stop on my volt meter journey? Switch? Sensor? kick the fan motor couple times? Apply direct power?

Cliffs: one fan runs while a/c is on, gets hot. one fan runs when a/c not turned on. Means a/c fan bad?? How to check? Doesnt overheat when a/c is off .

There are two fans, One for cooling and one that turns on when the AC is switched on. If your looking at the car from the front the right should be the AC and the left cooling. If the cooling fan is not coming on, check the under the good fusebox. There is a fuse for the cooling fan, if its not blown check the fan switch.

Correct. Check to see which fan is running. As roller said, if facing the car from the front, the cooling fan is on the left and the AC fan on the right.

To check if your fan motors are good, give them direct power and ground.

From the Front, the fan on the left was dead.

Fan on the right remained on w/ a/c on and off. < assumed was cooling fan.

Wait, the fan on the left wasnt running? You were standing at the front of the car looking to the rear?

Does the fan on the right (AC fan) remain on constantly?

Check your cooling fan fuse, in the fuse box under the hood.

I have the same problem. Both fans are off when the car is on and when I turn on the a/c the right fan turns on.

I checked the cooling fan fuse and its fine. Roller, what do I do to the fan switch? Is it the **** in-between the fans?

If you have a helms manual there is a way to test the switch electrically.
Before you check that though I would replace the cooling fan relay in the under the hood fuse box. You could go to a junkyard and get one for cheap probably
