Hard starting in hot weather, no engine codes.
My 92 GL has a hard time starting when temp gets to 30C. It will crank fine but no start. After many attemps (with a few minutes between cranks to save starter) it will finally start and run fine. Shutting it off and it will restart immediately just fine also. At all other times it starts at the first turn of the key. There are no engine codes given. I have the factory maintenance manual and am an experienced aircraft tech but don't have a pile of parts to try replacing things on spec. The manual is no help either. Has anyone experienced this?
It did it today again ( temp was 31C) and with battery almost flat (wife had car at work) I stuck a paper clip into distributer cap and checked for spark. It was pretty weak and not consistant. I put wire back into cap and wife tried it one more time out of desparation. Darn thing started right up on last electron from battery! Stopped a few times on way home to get stuff and it started right up again each time.
