EG Coupe? You mean EJ1?

If the other guy was talking about the EG hatch, then you're going to be running slower 1/4's with an EJ (coupe) because it's heavier...

My friend ran flat 14s in a fully built b16 coupe. B16s suck, get a LS engine for cheap and piece together a turbo kit with the grand you just saved.

B16's don't suck. They're great engines, and can be built very well. Of course the 18C5's are great, but just because an engine isn't "The Best" it doesn't suck. The D16Z6's are worthy of praise...

Well, b16's are high compression and not that much torque, 1/4 times aren't that much surprising w/out extensive mods and tuning.

have fun breaking 15....if your an experience track person, you'll see mid to high 15's....if not, enjoy those low 16's....

well mines a EJ2 but everyone on here calls 92-95 EG's so i just went with that... thats the way most people recognize them...

but im still wondering if the B18B or B16A will give me bettter 1/4 times? im thinking b18 cuz of the higher torque

depends what type of mods, climate, and of coarse the driver.
besides if you really want to know, you have 2 options

option #1 you can buy it and find out yourself.

option #2 the cheaper way to finding out is right here - https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch

i ran a 15.4 with a bad launch, not to good a 60ft time and a hesitant grinding 3rd gear. i also have a itr tranny. if u have an open diff. then times will be slower. I just need a lot more practice at launching and need to rebuild my tranny. I'm sure i can get into the 14's. With slicks that's a different story

yea mines a coupe 99' personaly i prefere the 1600 to the 1800 as i raced 1 and spanked it. also if ur runnin it stock the 1800 dont change gear ointo the v-tec where as the b16 does, so modifications will need to be made. failing that get ur reaction time good and keep ur gear changes smooo th

Because there is no definate answer. You could buy two exact engines and they could run different times.

Buy a B18 and put a B16 head on it and then you will have torque with a nice head. Match it with a long geared lsd and then you will run 9's.
