Default speedo/odometer and tach OUT... need some help

aight, my speedo and tach just randomly wen't out this week. Tach wen't out 2 days before speedo, speedo will jump up randomly sometimes then cut out. Threw a code 17, but the speedo has cut out before. Not sure if I need a new VSS< idk. Took it to my local honda/acura guy and he couldn't figure it out... anyone?!

take the connector out and clean both sides, vss side and harness side, use a battery terminal spray cleaner from any parts store then use dielectric grease in the connection. if that doesnt take care of it chances are VSS is bad.

anyone else, what could have caused the tach problem you think? It went out while I was getting it tuned because I just put a turbo in there. One of the couplers plew off at about 5grand on the highwaya nd the tach wen't out too...
