i'm wanting to get some coilovers for my rsx-s. not sure what kind to get tho. any suggestions?? at the moment i have eibach pro kit springs, but i'm ready to drop it more. i dont want cheapo's but i also dont wanna pay an arm and a leg for some. what r some good coilovers for a decent price?? i was thinking tein, but those r ****** expensive.

TEIN are the low end of the quality coilovers. This is something you don't want to cheap out on, it will show later on if you do in performance and longevity.

Other nice coilovers are Skunk2 and Megan Racing. More sway to Megan since the ride is a bit softer. Skunk2 tends to be a rough ride, more for track application.

The Buddy Club that Bobo-Chan mentioned are also nice, but more aggressive on ride.

Althoguh expensive, a good monotube coilover will be the best option. TEIN just brought out a more sporty yet comfy set of monotube coilovers which might be just for you.

End of story is, find out how you want your ride to be (not height, but ride quality), call around to shops or even the manufacturers themselves and ask them what application they have to fit your needs. Feel free to ask how theirs compares to XXXX, most companies don't mind those questions. Good luck on your choice.

PS - I have TEIN Super Streets for the record. They are nice with adjustable height, but for ME it is really hard to find the right damper setting for a comfortable ride as a daily driver. I've had them for 2 years and i'm about ready to swap them out for some JIC Magic coilovers. Thats about $1200 or so.

Suspension is the best upgrade to any car, it is not something to go cheap on.

Depends on what they were looking for. Megan coilovers start around $600 for non adjustable. These are mostly track coilovers, not daily driver. Many people see the price and just buy them without researching and find the ride too harsh for them.

I was thinking about maybe getting some Skunk2 adjustable coilovers for now cuz I can't stand to look at my car with a lift kit as compared to my civic that was on skunk2's and slammed. It would be probably a temporary thing until I can get my hands on some Tein SS's. Would this be an alright idea as a temporary thing?

what facts do you have to back up your statement?

TEIN is quality stuff, they have lower end, cheaper coiloovers for people looking for more adjustability then perforamnce but TEIN is one of the best manufacturers out there.

i think that 8 clicks from soft would be good for daily driving... i have those on my accord before i got the rsx-s... but if u alil more softer for daily comfort go between 5 and 9

From what I've gathered by looking around I'd say Either Tein SS, Buddy Club N+, or Progress Comp. I'm going with the BC's personally.

I'm sorry if I understood you but it sounds like you're trying to say you'd take the Skunk2 coilovers (sleeveovers), over Tein Basics??.....

I've driven ep3s with both the skunk2 and the Teins.. The difference is day and night.... Teins > Skunk2

The most comfortable settings on the SS should be the softest setting (last click), It'll still handle like the Tein Basics but at much more comfortable feel...

look into tanabe s-oc coilovers too, they use relatively soft springs and it has no noise issues like many others

No facts, just opinion. I never state facts without a reference of some sort I just base my statement on the fact that for the price, there are other lines of coilovers that use a monotube design over the dual-tube design TEIN uses (which I read they are now making monotube coilovers! I'd like to try those ). And that again, is just a personal preference. Everything on a forum should be taken as an opinion unless they can back it up.

I own TEINs now and probably will when I replace them on my RSX, which is a daily driver. But for a more track oriented car, unless they get some good reviews, I'll be going with JIC or HKS. I also like pie over cake.

If you want me to pick between those two, I'd go with basics. As for settings, this is yet again, personal preference, I like a less bouncy ride but not so ridgid it hurts my *** when I hit my seat or upsets my girlfriend rolling into a city. Skunk2 is a racing company, their products are for those active in racing. They are also very affordable which makes them appealing compared to some other companies and products.
