after market gauge cluster won't light up?????
95 civic ex bought the car with the white face gauges in it already and only drove it in the day so I didn't notice them not lighting up. I took the wholke dash apart and everything is hookek up right. have it running on a 10 amp fuse with a add a fuse adapter hooked into the stock gauge light fuse (stock back lighting works fine) they go on every now and then when I hit a bump (starting to sound like it might be a bad ground connection) I don't know the brand or model but you can change the color of the lighting if that helps anyone narrow down which one I have. Any input would be great!!
thanks

I wish people on this site would learn that people are allowed to do whatever they want to their cars, if you can't help out then don't post...
Now, to help you out matt and the OP, the same thing happened to me, I got my car used and had a set in. after a few weeks mine died as well. I found out the little power supply / color change controller died on me. So I just went out and got a new set on ebay for 30 bucks and they have been working flawlessly for the past 3 years. So that could be something to look at, make sure the power box is actually working, get a volt meter and make sure power is flowing thru it. hope this helps

thanks for the help mr twig
oh and i dont have a color changer on mine but i do have a little controller to make it brighter or dimmer, do you think that would cause them to stop working if it went out? oh and what does the power box look like? sorry i dont know anything about guage clusters/wiring.
Thanks

it's possible that the dimmer could be bad and not letting the electricity flow thru it. on mine I had a little black box that basicly the guage faces and the dimmer/color changer plugged into and from that the power wires came out of it.
you can probably just use any dimmer switch at any electronics store, it basicly functions the same as a dimmer switch you would have in your house for lights - except the one in your car is a lot smaller. if not try bypassing the dimmer all together and just hook up the power directly to see if you can get it to work with a constant brightness. if it still doesnt work then something is burnt out and time to hit up ebay.
hope this helped
