Default Engine Swap

Hello all,

I am currently gonna purchase a 89 crx. What is the best set up as far as engine swapping? I will have about 3000 to start the engine building. I just want a good solid starting point. More mods will be added later but I need a starting point. Any suggestions?

Thanks

For about 1200 you could put it a ZC or Sohc Vtec motor.
For about 1800 you could do a bare bones b16 swap.
For about the same price you could also do the b18a swap
For about 2500-3000 you could do a very nice b16 swap.

I did a b16 and it cost me about 3000. Here is what I used:

B16a, Pr3 ecu, S1 transmission
Hasport billet mounts and shift linkage
raxles.com stage 1 hybrid axles
new radiator
Clutchmasters stage 1 clutch
timing belt, water pump, cap and rotor, thermostat, plugs and wires, fuel filter
New crank pulley and alternator pulley
Misc. gaskets, hoses, and fluids

So it came out between 2800-3000

It would be extremely quick. I have seen some built crvtec setups with a nice set of cams putting down close to 225 at the wheels all motor. Check out http://www.importbuilders.com

Thanks for any info.
