Keep the s2k. Youd be crazzy to go down in car on that one.

If your going to do that, give it to me. Its my dream car.

That sucks having to wait that long, I'm getting the first one off the line in late August/eary Sept. and I can't hardly wait. Don't get rid of the S2k though

Reserve it now if you can. Trade in the 05 Si, but not the S2k.

Love mine so far. More and more mods are coming out. By the time you get yours, you should be able to find any kind of part you want.

Hopefully, they will fix the shift to 3rd issue. Doesn't matter to me though because I am about to install the short shifter. I doubt they can do anythign with the braking issue.

the shift issue is the tranny itself, which is in more than just this model civic, its in the rsx-s as well and never got fixed there either.

all the new si's will have VSA and of course the Si will be available as a sedan for the first time ever. both of which is a good or a bad thing depending on your opinion.

Don't ever let go of the S2K, you'll regret it.

I am new to this forum and planning to buy an Si... was tempted to wait till the 2007 simply because of the VSA? Why do you say it can be a bad thing?

btw, I am switching from VW to Honda...

Vehicle Stability Assist (i.e. stability control) to prevent the car from losing control on slippery roads and/or sudden maneuvers

In my opinion, you should know how to keep your car in control by yourself. Th

You have a point... I am a pretty good driver, but never been in any extreme situation so I am not sure what would happen...

You should go to an big empty parking lot where there is alot of open room. See how your car reacts to certain scenarios. Understand the limitations of your car and what affects the car's reaction. You can always upgrade you parts to increase performance, such as brakes, suspension, horse power, etc... Do not just mod your car because the parts are available and on the market. You really need to understand what you are adding and what it does.

Unfortunately, I have been in many "close calls". No matter how slow or fast you are going, they will always happen. Even in my old LX coupe, I was able to avoid things because of my abilities. Such as drifting around a car to avoid them from hitting me and maintaining control. As long as you do not "freak out" and maintain control of the vehicle, you will be okay.

Cool, thanks. I just wanted to see how useful it would be to have the VSA but I guess you guys are right and being a good driver is always best!

I will probably do the defensive driving course offered by AAA. I don't plan on any mods for now... I like the car just the way it is (which is why I picked it over the GTI which I also considered and felt had several drawbacks).

How do you guys feel about the visibility of the car? I test drove it and had a hard time checking incoming traffic when entering the highway... the back windows are small. Also, the large dash makes me feel a bit far from the road... but I guess I will get used to that...

Yeah, you have to adjust for it. After awhile, you will do it like second nature. I set my side mirrors to see more of my blind spot instead of having them see farther behind me. Works fine for me.

There's very few dealerships around here still marking up the cars... in fact those who do seem to have their cars around for quite a bit.

Yes, some dealers tried to pull that with me too. They know the new Si is in high demand. I told them to shove it. I found a couple honest dealers and picked one to go through. Consider going out of your local area if you have to.
