del Sol: how to get window up with no motor in car
Hi, i've got a 94 del Sol Si I'm working on. Right now there is no motor in the car, and the dummies before me left the driver's side power window down.
Anyway to get this back up without the motor in the car?? Door panels are off the car right now.

Are you talking about the P/W motor or the motor in the engine bay? BTW, you do not have to have an engine in the car in order to turn on the radio, roll up windows, etc. Just make sure you have a BATTERY.

Yes, no motor is in the engine bay of the car right now, everything else is in place. I have the battery. But how would i get power to the car, to roll up the windows??

all you have to do is install the battery (POSITIVE & GROUND/NEGATIVE) wires and you should be able to turn your key to ACC.
dumb question, but why do you want it up? You working on your car outside?
Personally, I'd leave it down so if you're working on st*t you don't accidentally break it.
But yea, just connect the battery back. I'd work assuming you didn't disconnect any of the wiring when the engine was removed.

Yeah, I don't have the engine harness right now, that's why I am asking. The shop where my motor was has it, but i'll be getting it in a couple days. I'd just like to roll it up so bugs don't fly in there and stuff.
But looks like ill just deal with it down for now

DID YOU EVEN TRY TO CONNECT THE BATTERY AND TRY TO ROLL IT UP YET? DONT POST BACK UNTIL YOU DO. YOU DO NOT NEED THE ENGINE OR THE ENGINE HARNESS IN. JUST CONNECT THE BATTERY TO THE FUSE BOX AND GROUND IT. jesus.
no no no your wrong you dont have to "hot wire" the motor just connect your battery terminals and the one wire goin to the fuse box turn your key to the 2nd position and roll up the window..
here anoter better idea..since you mention the door panel is off alreay.
assuming you have a car battery there or even a car battery chager.
unplug the power window motor plug which is on the door. it should be a plug with 2 wires and just tap into the wires to find out which way goes up or down. simple. i do it all the time to my cars.
