GSR cam upgrades 14 sec slips?
I have a JDM GSR engine in my 98 integra LS. I have the usual mods h/i/e ngk wires, soon will have a koyo radiator and Flexa lite fans. If I were to upgrade the camshafts and cam gears would i see 14 second time slips. What would the HP increase be, would it be noticable. What should I choose for my next upgrade to see the biggest increase in power. I dont want to go turbo, and i would like to get by W out tearing down the internals. Just minor boltons. Thanks for the help
If you can drive really good you can make it into the 14s with what you're running now;. But it will be the highest 14 ever. I want something similar. Mild cams without doing head work, tearing apart the motor etc.
you can do 14 with your setup because you got a good 10 hp advantage over the usdm gsr...and ive seen those clip high 14's with bolt ons (the usdm gsr that is)
not necessary.. if u want a good time slip start with good tires.. run slicks or some drag radials. try to get good traction. some heavy modified cars ran slower times then expected because the modified ones are too strong they cant catch traction..

agreed. shouldn't have to be a really good driver, but a decent 60ft time and that should land u in the 14s.

if your a good driver and your tires are hooking up, you should be already running 15flat to 14.7 w/ intake, header, and exhaust. I know I was running a consistant 14.8 when I had just bolt ons..... as soon as I switched to just a ctr intake cam and skunk2 IM, I started running 14.5's.
The safest route to go w/o upgrading the valve train is to get a set of ctr/itr cams.

nitto drag radials
14.6 @ 96 mph</TD></TR></TABLE>
now thats a lil farfetched...if you indeed did trap that and run that time...good job

100 lbs out of the car makes a nice difference, as do the drag radials. and some driving. was going for 14.5's that night, but the clutch started slipping after power shifting all night. never went back.
