The Original H22A Swap! 95 Civic Coupe w/ H22 Swap 233WHP SoCal Dr. Charles Pit Crew
SOLD!
Hello All!
I have for sale a piece of engine swap history! It is a 1995 Honda Civic EX Coupe w/ Built H22A Engine Swap. Dr. Charles himself did the original swap back in 1997 at Pit Crew Motorsports. The original setup went high 13s all-motor in Palmdale back then (and it was considered FAST at the time).
In 2001, the engine finally gave out. A stock JDM H22A was put in 2001, and used as my daily driver for awhile.
In 2003, an R&D CNC Ported Head was put on the car, and it appeared in Super Street Magazine, October 2003.
By 2005, I completed my build with great work from Max Ha of MHR Performance. He put together the current R&D CNC Ported Head with a 2001 Euro R Block. A HyTech Header was also added. It now makes 233WHP, and hits high 12s, full interior, no spare tire, M&H 22x8x13 on Lenso VPDs.
I have maintained this vehicle meretriciously. I change the oil every 3500 miles or earlier. Within the last year, new parts include new radiator hoses, thermostat, NGK spark plugs, NGK spark plug wires, new axle. I also recently replaced it with JDM fenders, and a new bumper to go with it. New battery was put in just last May 2006.
CLEAN TITLE!
114K on Chassis
Almost 20K on Built Head
Almost 14K on Euro R Block Since Being Put Together
SIDE VIEW OF H22A CIVIC More Pictures Below!

WHY I’M SELLING IT:
This is one car I would truly hate to part with. However, with a Toyota Tacoma and a Lotus Elise, one car must go. The Toyota Tacoma is my daily workhorse, and one would be crazy to get rid of the Elise before the H22A Civic.

WHEELS & TIRES:
Honda LS Mesh 15 x 6.5” Alloy Wheels
Falken Ziex 512 205/50/15 Tires
INTERIOR & EXTERIOR
White Exterior & Grey Interior
JDM Fenders w/ Side Markers
JDM Civic Projector Head Lights
Mr. Gasket Hood Locks
Kenwood CD/MP3 Player
ADDITIONAL PARTS:
I will include two axle backs with this car. One is a regular muffled muffler, used for daily driving. The other one is a straight-through Magnaflow, for maximum power. They are easily swapped in and out by lifting the back and removing two bolts.
PROBLEMS:
I’m not going to lie. No car is without problems. Due to the nature of the H22A swap in a Honda Civic, the axles wear our prematurely. I have replaced them a couple of times over the past few years. Since putting on the 64mm throttle body, the car idles at 1500RPM. Maybe some additional tuning and adjustments can bring it down.
WORK NEEDED
JDM Sidemarkers still needs to be wired. The harness can be bought from PasswordJDM.
THINGS TAKEN OUT
No Air Conditioning / Heating
No Power Steering
No ABS
No Cruise Control
No Window Sprayer
PERFORMANCE STATS:
This car dyno 233WHP at Church Automotive Testing (shown below). Please, no debates about Dynapack vs. Dynojet, etc.
This car hits 12.8 and 12.9 quarter mile times easily on Lenso VPDs and M&H 22x8x13 Slicks.
Asking $5,500
I'm fairly firm on the price.
No joy rides please. PM me only if you are serious. Don't forget, this car has a Euro R Block, CNC Ported Head by the reputable Darren from R&D, a nice HyTech Header, brand name parts all over the place...

I recently replaced the passenger side axle.
It just means that you should expect to replace the axle every 1.5 years or do, depending on how you drive it. I've always wanted to try out the stronger DSS Axles, but I've always just had my local axle shop rebuild my broken ones.
