98+ Fender linings different?
I did a 98+ conversion on my 96 ls last summer and I had a shop do everything. A couple of days ago, I'm driving and I hear a scraping sound so I pull over and see my right fender lining has come down and it dragging on the ground and getting torn up by the my front tire. I tucked it up and drove home and jacked the car up. I got under the car and the holes for the lining didn't match any holes on the 98 bumper, it was only held in with one clip in the front and the rest was kind of tucked up under the bumper lip. I checked the other side and it was the same way.
So my question is, are the 98+ front fender linings different then the 94-97s? I believe the shop used my same fender linings because I supplied all the parts and they didn't ask me to get new ones. Thanks.

humm. i also have a 96 which i converted to a 98. The linings seems fine to me. Im postive its okay on the driver side. I dont remember having problems. On the pass side.. I had cut a small section out of it for my cold air intake, but now i want that replaced. So i've been searching and just trying to find the right deal, but they are all listed as 94-01. So i dont think there's a difference. If you find out other wise, let me know.
I checked the part numbers, 96 and 98 are the same. I don't remember seeing the front splash shield when I was under there, I'll check tomorrow, but that may be my problem. Do the fenders linings attach to the splash shield?
yeah.. the splash shield is attached to the linner. and the linner is attached to fender and bumper. If you do get a new one, let me know where and the price. Thanks
