my car cranks but wont start! *searched* HELP!!
ok here is the deal.
i have a H22A1 i was swapping into my prelude. before i went ahead and swapped the motor. i have done alot of removal modification. well balancer belt ripped on its own from the start. so i just left it off because its just waste of power. so thats off. i also removed my EGR system. i removed my EVAP canister. and i have removed my SRS system. so for the problem. the swap is nearly done. the motor is sitting and everything plugged up BUT the O2 sensor. it came down to starting it but for some weird reason it didnt want to start. gas was 1/4 full.
here are the things i have done to get this thing to start.
i checked all the lines. fuel lines and vacuum lines. i changed the main relay. fuel pump. map sensor. spark plugs. ignition coil. spark plug wires. cap and rotor. made sure it was at TDC before i started it. check all the fuses and relays which happens to be perfect. battery is brand spankin new. new terminals. i sprayed carb stuff into the manifold hoping it'll work. checked pressure on the fuel bolt which is on the fuel rail which was fine. the injectors are fine. though i am a tad bit skeptical about the fuel filter. i figured since fuel ran to the fuel rail it was running fine thru the fuel filter. i'll change that tomorrow but other than that i ran out of things to check and i really need help to figure out what the heck is wrong with it.
is there anything i might be forgetting to check? please help me! i want my car running already. thanks for any help!

haha nah i actually have the motor sitting in. the motor swap is pretty much done. just cant figure out why it isnt starting. and i doubt it'll be my flywheel because i did purchase a fidanza flywheel not to long ago. which appears to be in perfect condition before i threw it all in. anyone else with advice or tips?
are you sure you have spark?
if no cylinders are firing, check the igniter, very common problem.
how long was the car sitting for?
it may be bad fuel. siphon some of it out, throw in some 91 and octane boost.
did you do a compression test?
if not, do it and come back with numbers.

if you know the motor is getting fuel then it pretty much only leaves one thing....no spark
is the timing correct? Also check to make sure the spark plugs are indeed sparking by removing one and grounding it on the motor and visually verify the spark, somtimes dizzys get messed up and can be installed 180 degrees off and that will of course mess up your timing and cause it not to start

ok i changed the ignitor. not the problem. the fuel was drained out and put with fresh 91 octane. i didnt perform a compression test but it sounds like all cylinders got compression.
bought starting fluid. but doesnt seem to help. tomorrow ima change the fuel filter. check the injectors and see if they are spraying into the cylinders. and i'll let you guys know. is there anything else i should check?

have you checked the main fuel relay? im new to the preludes but my 90 integra wouldnt start one random day and it was my main fuel relay under the dash
Check the obvious... do you have fuel... in the cylinder? Remove a plug and smell it. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail? Do you know the injectors are firing? If you listen with a stethoscope you can hear them clicking if they're working. My guess is the injectors aren't firing.
Did you take out a plug to confirm it's sparking?
It's one or the other. Most likely something's still unplugged.

all i needa check is the fuel filter and make sure the injectors are spitting. becuz i've dont just about everything. even checking the spark on the cylinders. so tomorrow ima get to it. and i'll let you guys know if it fires up!
mess with your clutch pedal lately? check and make sure you have the two clutch sensors plugged in at the bottom of the pedal. if they aren't plugged in, car won't start.
