Default VTEC

What exactly does the VTEC do and when does it kick in? This is my first car with a VTEC so I was wondering if you could point it out to me.

Do you have a SI or EX/LX/DX?

That explains Single Overhead Cam VTEC, but its all the same principle. Hope that helps out a little.

Vtec is kinda like sex with an Italian supermodel on a white sand beach and crystal clear water.......once you hit it, you'll always be back for more.

I know what vtec is, but my question is when exactly do I hit it? Also, will I hit it with my auto as well as a person that has stick? The highest my car will let me hit the rpm is 6500. I can hear the engine get pretty loud, but I'm not sure. Wish I went with stick.

Since you have an EX/LX/DX the i-VTEC in your engine [the R18] is made for fuel efficiency. It's not the same "VTEC" as in the Si.

You will HEAR VTEC on your R18. If yo have an Si, you will HEAR AND FEEL it.

Well spoken. Any engine can make a load noise. Hell, I have seen people just install noise makers to make it sound like they have intake and exhause. But can you feel what the engine is doing? This car puts you back against the seat.

Maybe I'm exagerating, but when I hit it, it feels like i'm being pushed back to my seat. <sigh>

Man, I would give anything for premium gas to be $1.00 a gallon... I'd be on the road alllllll day

^^^****...at the rate I'm going right now with my si, I will be pretty damn close to 100,000 in 2 years. My current rate is about 1000 a week, if not more. That comes out to 48,000 a year and 96,000 in 2. O well, I bought the car to drive it.

Man, I find any excuse to go drive. If I need to buy some food, I'll go to freaking Dallas (20 minutes from me) just to drive.
