Default GSR clutch assembly in 96-00 civic?

ok, I have a automatic 98 civic that I am wanting to switch to manual, I have a 97 GSR clutch assembly ( pedal, master cylinder, and everything else needed for a standard transmission. What I'm needing to know is if it will work in the civic, if anyone has converted an automatic to standard and have some knowledge on the subject lemme know thanks!

unless you have a b-series swap, it won't work.

why is that? because you dont have to change the clutch assembly out when you do a B-series swap into a D-series car.
