ECHC Results?
Corey raced well, 2nd on Day 1 I believe... Day 2 he forgot his gloves and we had to black flag him - he still raced really well, making up a lot of the lost ground.
We got the results shortly after the race was over on Saturday. I don't know about Sunday's race though because I wasn't able to make it back down there. There was some controversy about Saturday's win because it was taken by a Speedvision car. If you know your racing...you'd know that the Speedvision cars are on antoher level above where the Honda Challenge cars are at. This guy started in dead last and took the win by at least 1/4 lap before it was all over. The win will probably be given to the guy drivin the red Civic hatch(forgot his name). I'll see if I can get the official results today for everyone.

Clearly if you were going to race in a 'series' you would check the 'guidelines' before entering the auto in the event.
fyi. The fastest lap times were very close to each other.

It blew from back of the pack to beat Yack on the last lap..... although his fastest lap saturday was only a few tenths faster than yack... hmm... and then the assclown wanted a refund because he was DQ'ed because he cant read the rules before he came out to play

yes the SV car was DQ'ed due to multiple rule infractions.

- Every race series has a rulebook. You *might* want to read it before you show up.
- If something is found to be illegal (ex: cams, 12 pt cage, lexan, remote reservoir shocks, and that's just what we could SEE), expect to be protested if you win. Expect that protest to be upheld.
- If you whine about it and act like an ******* after you're DSQed, expect to be asked to leave and never to return like Karl/Scott did with this particular assclown.
Even though it was stressful, Karl/Scott handled it perfectly.
PS: that Civic was not legal for *any* race series run in the US, with the possible exception of NASAs Super Unlimited.
Just out of curiosity, could this problem be avoided by having the car run on the WC spec tire??? I think that Foo's car ran a very good ITS time at VIR from talking to a couple of IT guys but nothing excessively fast. And I am not trying to make a ruckus, just think it would be very cool if people who had nowhere else to run could be placed in H1 with some stipulations. It would be very cost prohibitive to demodify a WC car otherwise - like redoing the cage, buying shocks to replace the rr shocks, replacing the glass, etc . . . just hoping that there could be someway to include these guys with some sort of restriction and since weight penalty doesn't really work in a series without a minumum weight . . . . just a meandering thought.
He was asked to do so. He declined, so he could run on a fresh set of hoosiers.

1. Put the street tires back on the car (making it a legal SVWC car)
2. Waive points
3. Run in Super Unlimited or PS0
4. Run as-is, subject to protest
He wanted *nothing* to do with 1 through 3.

You offered him fair alternatives - period. I can understand wanting to run in the ECHC race group (though just so he can kick everybody's *** unfairly is pretty weak). Only a mega-hit off the GFCP....oops, I mean racing....would get my mind off a situation like that. If you had a good race and enjoyed driving with all that crap going on then you are a helluva good sportsman.
Scott, who would've put the street tires on, waived points, protested my own self, and then gone looking for a good race with somebody.....that guy sounds like a moron....if you're gonna inch up to the line or appear to cross it, you'd better have a case you can make based on the rulebook and be prepared to take your lumps if the official interpretation is in disagreement to your own.....rant, rant, rant....I'm really in a huff because I'm so far away.........

(Driver aside), that was a pretty damn sweet car!
Oh wait, I've seen so many sweet Hondas last weekend I lost count! I still can't get over the fact of having been surrounded by so many cool Honda racecars. And those uncorked vtec sounds.... mmm delicious.
