Default Hit 198 whp with Skunk Stage 1 cams

198 whp
134 tq

Installed the Toda header and gave me about 5 hp on top but allowed me to lower the vtec and pick up some good midrange. Toda header kicks ***. Mods are:

Toda Header, Icebox with no top with K&N filter, Testpipe, 2.5 Exhaust, No ps, ac belts, vafc, fpr @ 54psi, skunk cams and cam gears and Kenji's ecu.

Nice #'s, Taking the Icebox lid off on the dyno might produce better #'s, but in the real world it will actually hurt performance.

There was a 2hp increase throughout the band with no lid. I believe once the car starts moving, colder air get under the hood somehow.

The dyno is only half of the equation. Same thing here on the dyno, But at the Drag strip with the lid off I lost 1-1.5 mph and .1 or so on three consecutive passes. With all my other #s staying the same, 60ft so, Being consistant is one of the benifits when it comes to tuneing the car.

I can only assume it is due to the turbulance under the hood at higher speeds?? The intake is bringing in air and with no lid it is being forced out of the top of the box, there is no lid to hold the air/direct it to the filter. At the same time the heat from the motor is being blown throughout the engine compartment and now being sucked in through the filter? ALL just experianced guesses.

I see what your saying and it makes sense. I will also do some testing on the strip and see what happens. I'm going to completely remove the box though. not just the lid.

Yes, tuning is the key. I had a better graph then this but I messed around with the a/f and never got it back. 200 is definetly within reach. Good luck!

Very impressive numbers, especially for stock compression. Swift Racing Technologies is a bad *** place from what I have heard. They do some pretty nice stuff for toyota/lexus

Nice MPH !!!!

Toda header !? Mmm...tax return ?!

To bad we couldn't super impose the Stage 2 cams dyno overs yours to see the differences. Peak vs peak, you are 6 hp under the stage 2's (204 hp). Also, Jeff's dyno'd car had a 12.3 CR and some custom ECU tunning.
