for turbo you want to stick with the stock LS piston but you are limtied to how much power you can put down through stock components though.

its not worth building a turbo block with oem pistons as like the previous poster said, you will be limited by the strength of the pistons, rods, ect

It's really not the pistons and rods that are the immediate weakness.

If you are shooting for HP goals of 280 or higher, the stock sleeves are going to give before the piston/rods do, if the engine is tuned properly.

true however i believe if you are looking to build up a motor and use oem pistons you probably arent going to be using aem ems. melting pistons, snaping rods ect... why not just og with the good stuff while building it now? instead of doing it later.... plus sleeved blocks are out there and not that much money its definitly worth saving to have a legit build and legit block

I totally agree. If I were rebuilding an engine and my plans were to achieve high horsepower, stock internals would not be on my list.

I just wanted to point out that the OE stuff is good up to a certain HP level.

just build a stock ls vtec and you should see 13s no problem.. The stock setup is good as your tuner is. IF your tuner knows what he is doing then you will make some decent power on a stock block

yes pct pistons will yeild you more power with the higher compression also a larger bore would also get your more power even if slightly larger

well when i called up the acura dealship and got a price on oversized itr pistons, wrist pins, and rings it was like under 300 with my commercial account so thats why im thinking of going that way

any thoughts now???

oh p.s. first honda engine build and no experience with ls/vtec so thats why im acting like a noob with this ****. Fixing mom's minivans and whatever else rolls into my shop with facctory replacement parts im good but this hybrid **** is getting me!!
