Cooling addatives. Yey or ney?
I am going to do my usual cooling system flush today and was considering using an addative to the water such as water wetter ext. Is anyone here using this product or something like it? Any issues or any difference in temp measured?
Thanks for the info

Water wetter does what it says it will do but you only really need it under high stress applications where you are in danger of boiling the water in the water jackets.
Water wetter contains all the additives that a bottle of coolant contains plus surfactants that prevent 'sheeting' during high temperatures. It does not lower the freezing point though so if you don't live in a warm climate you should cut it with some anti-freeze. Water transfers heat better than anti-freeze so you want to use as little as possible. That's why water wetter is so bitchin'. You can run straight water without the risk of corrosion because its got all the good additives to prevent that. I know the chemist who invented it. It's his baby and he'll talk all day about it if you let him.
Ive used BG coolant additives there pretty good. You can get them @ any dealer or service shop that uses them. they have Two kits that I know of one for the winter and one for spring and summer both come with a cleaner you dump in before you flush the system.
