Anyone disabled the dimmer circuit on the headlights?
I've searched and found nothing so here I am. My Accord was never nearly as bad as my 5th gen 'Lude with the clock and temperature controls dimming with the headlights on. For safety I always drive with my headlights on but during the hours of 6:00am to 6:00pm I cant see if my AC is on or read the console clock.
I dont have schematics (yet) for the 'Lude so I'm not about to start snipping wires without a little knowledge. Has anyone disabled the dimmer circuit so the clock and temp controls dont dim when the headlights are turned on?
Thanks,
Frank

I haven't actually disabled the dimmer, but all that dimmer switches are is a variable resistance resistor. Think V = IR from electronics, all you need to do is bypass that switch, and join the two wires directly to get 100% output. Just find out what the maximum safe voltage is.
Ack, I just realised what you're really asking. Maybe someone can provide circuit drawings. Also, pulling the switch and seeing how it's set up can't hurt. Make sure you have an accurate multimeter.
