should i go turbo or stick with n/a?
im thinking about going turbo so often these days as its getting close to the time im gonna send out my block and have it built
n/a i made 213whp and i'm not sure if i should stick with it or go turbo
the thing im concerned about with turbo is, how much traction am i going to have on the street?
i have heard of some people losing traction in 3rd gear just from flooring it....
i think if i went the boost way, id be aiming for around 400whp+ area
how is the traction going to be?

The traction issues are only going to be as bad as your suspenion setup. With that amount of power, your going to need a suspension setup capable of keeping that power to the ground.
Proline or Sportline? Either way a nice setup, you'll here plenty of opinions here about N/A vs. FI. Though I am a fan of both, it comes down on the money you're willing to spend.

just get a set of ground controls with whatever spring rates you need for whatever kind of driving you're doing.

Not to mention what you're doing w/your car...Drag or auto-x/roadrace. I've seen turbo'd cars on tracks struggle to keep up w/tuned NA cars. On the other hand, the obvious @ 1/4 mi runs leaving you in envy of the FI racers. I'm a fan of both too, but you gotta admire the work & technology that goes into an NA car that can keep up w/a kid who slapped on a turbo.
if i go n/a it will be cheaper then turbo because either way i will be building the block
if i go n/a i will build the block and im done
if i go turbo, i will build the block and spend another 3-4g's on the turbo setup itself + more tuning
this car will see the 1/4mile about once a month, maybe twice

When I had my koni yellows they were outstanding for about 6 months then the adjustment ability sucked, then 6 months after that they were blown completely.. Yes koni will rebuild them however I didn't feel like having my only car down for 4-6 weeks or more while koni rebuilds them.. all that to have it happen again in 6 months.. ill stick with something more reliable not saying that the tein stuff is better but next time around for me im going else where cause konis are prone to this problem.

Stick with NA, a 250whp built will make your car pretty fast and fun to drive.
400whp in FWD isn't fun in my opinion if you have no traction, all you get is understeer and more understeer.
As for the suspension, I went from Koni + RS*R springs to TEIN FLEX 12k/8k. Differences is night and day.

My personal opinion, (which I doubt matters because most people end up going turbo anyway because they get spanked by a faster, usually turbocharged car) is that you remain n/a. Turbocharging your car will make it less streetable and thus less reliable and more of a pain to maintain. People with turbocharged motors usually run into 4x as many maintenance problems. You have a fwd prelude which was meant to rev high and corner quicker than michael jackson holding two teenage boys hostage. Use the cars natural tendencies to tune it to perfection.
N/A is awesome, so is Turbo. However, a high horsepower (400+) fwd prelude is not fun in my opinion to drive on the street. Not to mention you dont need anything near 400 to keep up with the faster cars out there today.

alright well i guess it sounds like ill be sticking with n/a
i will be trying to hit 250whp n/a and nitrous for the 1/4
would i hit my 250whp with a built block?
only need 37whp....since my last dyno came out to 213whp
to the guy that said the konis blow every 6 months, i had mine for over a year now and they are fine and i know many people with them and they havn't had any problems for years
maybe you put them at the maximum stiffness?
the shop that installed them told me to never put them that stiff or they will blow but 1/4 turn from the max is good.

agreed
I wish I had stayed N/A, my DD is turbocharged with a built motor of course but is no fun to drive whatsoever during hot or humid days; not to mention the fact that I had to lose a/c to make a crazy downpipe

I'd bump the compression up around 11 to 11.5, get a good custom made header and do a full tune. That should bring you pretty darn close to the figures.

I agree 100%. Also, wider tires, like 215. Dont forget a traction bar. PFIspeed.com sells them. Mine was shipped today. Should have it next week.
