Default Lucas Oil Stabilizer, Is it any good?????

Well, i have only heard good things about Lucas Oil Stabilizer and i was wondering if any of you guys use it. Im losing a half qt of oil every 1-1.5 weeks. I have a 2000 si with the b16a2 72kmi. I use mobil 1 full synthetic W/ JDM hamp oil filter. I rarely hit VTEC only once or twice a week or never. My valves aren't bent and my seals are good cuz my compression is good across the board 200,200,195,190. I replaced, wires, plugs, cap, rotor, timing belt, all belts, and checked everything. Power is consistent but oil goes low over a wekks period id say from the top oil dot toa little over the first dot. I do let my oil settle. I was wondering if Lucas oil stabilizer will help my problem.

No. Someone did some study on it and it actually causes the oil to get bubbles in it. I don't remember all the details, do a search and you'll find it eventually.

Edit: after reading your entire post, you have a serious problem that won't be fixed by some magic bottle juice. If you're sure you're valve seals are good, then I would put money on the fact that your rings are bad. Lossing that much oil that fast is no bueno.

no the rings are not bad, the b16 burn **** load of oil. I have the same problem and actually did a post on it and everyone said its normal to go through it in the b16 especially with synthetic oil. I was at like 3500 -4000 for an oil change couple weeks ago and only got 1 1/2 qts oil out my car. I am trying the royal purple 10w30 now and check it regularly. I am not blowing it out either because bumper is clean and no smoke out the back. I have 63000 on my Em1 and I think its just normal.

Synthetic oil will harden all your oil seals (especially valve stem seals). I'd switch back to dino oil. I get better engine performance with Castrol. To see the study, go to bobistheoilguy.com. In fact it's here:

That won't make any difference. 5w30 and 10w30 are the same viscosity when hot. You could try 10w40, or you could switch to conventional oil which should burn off slower than the synthetic. Just make sure to check the sump frequently and keep it topped off.

How much oil are you losing, mileage-wise? X amount per unit time is not a good figure to compare because we don't know how many miles you are driving in that time period.

I dunno, mayb about 300-400 mi for every half qt. Like i don't lose much, i just re fill my oil till it reaches the second dotted line. It usually drops to around the first dot, then when it all settles, it just goes slightly over the first dot, then when i add a half qt, its almost to the second dot afteri drive around and let it settle till next morning

I remember hearing my boss tellin me about synthetic oil that when you put it in engines with higher mileage the engine burns oil quicker because the engine is like already broke in(sorry but don't remember the correct term that he used). Wouldn't gettin it port and polished help is stop burning oil, i heard its like makin the engine brand new.

You said you use synthetic. That's the problem right there. Use conventional. I use valvoline 10w30 for my Jdm h22

10 yr old thread.

Anyway, the stuff is pretty good at swelling seals and gaskets to slow down leaks.
