How to pull a vacuum on the a/c system???
Does anyone know where I connect a vacuum box on the DC2 a/c system? Also, when pulling a vacuum should the car be running with the a/c turned on? I have never done this myself before and I recently purchased the vacuum box Harbor Freight for $9.99. I figured it couldn't be too hard. TIA.
Uh, your supposed to use an A/C guage manifold set. The vacuum pump connects to the center hose on the manifold & sucks the system dry on both sides. A decent gauge manifold costs about $75 at pep boys...
Here is a How too in the EG forum (your car uses R134 & not R12):

Brad, like said, there is the High pressure and Low pressure side. IIRC the red cap is high the blue cap is low. Both need to be hooked up with the car turned off. If you have time on sunday, you can come over to Ho-town and I'm sure we could hook it up to the machine at work. LMK.
