Default obd0-obd1 conversion harness question

I bought a conversion harness from rywire.com for converting to obd1. But my car already has the obd0 harness cut and wired for vtec and knock sensor. I asked rywire and they said that I should wire it back to stock. But I was wondering if that is needed. There seems to be 3 wires cut on the obd0 harness (could be more, i didnt look very extensively) and about 5 wires soldered in. Is it possible to just disconect the soldered in wires for vtec and knock and put the harness on and ecu and go? I will try and take some pics tonight of the wires soldered in and the wires that are cut to give you a better idea.

Ok, here is the cut wires. There is one more in the back that is yellow.

This is an open space in one of the plugs. Not sure if there was something there before, so I hope you guys know.

This is some mysterious wire that i think looks pretty ghetto fabbed in there.

Im not sure where these wires are connected at. They are wrapped up and in hosing. Im thinking i can just cut the wires and connect the colors up. They seem to match up pretty good. But im reallllly not so sure about that one wire that it put in there with the 2 strings of wire. And im not sure about that open space. So I really hope you guys know about that too. Please any ideas would be great.

Open your handy, dandy, repair manual to the proper wiring diagram and go from there.

my main concern is the 3rd and 4th picture. Is there a wire that needs to go there, or do i just yank that one out and call it good
