Quick dumb ECU question about chipped P28s

I want to trade my friend his P28 for mine because mine isn't datalogging ready and his is. But we have completely different setups. All I have to do keep my chip and he keeps his right? The ECU itself doesn't really matter right?

Right the chip retains all your fuel maps etc. So it should be fine if you just switch chips

the chip has to be datalogging enabled as well....

BTW enabling datalogging hardware wise is as simple as installing the connector and plugging in the TTL to whatever converter. (USB or serial)
Crome has to remove J12, Uberdata does not.
