Noisy Throwout Bearing - Replace asap? Can it wait? Urgent?
My throwout bearing is noisy (determined what it was through searching). Sounds like a chirping from the tranny. it instantly stops with any pressure on the clutch and i hear no clicking (so i don't think its the input shaft bearing)
anyway, its an ACT throwout bearing, with only 6k miles on it.
Over the winter, i'll be dropping the tranny, and installing an LSD. I'd rather not go through the hassle of the tranny removal twice if i can avoid it.
So how urgent is the replacement of the noisy throwout bearing? Could it fail or potentially break? Or just continue to make noise?
Any info appreciated. Thanks in advance...

if your throwout bearing isn't spinning it's wearing the springs of your pressure plate.
do you get chatter as you let out the clutch?

i don't think i hear any chatter
how do you know its not spinning? is that what is causing the noise? i was thinking that it is spinning, just making the noise as it does

Well lets see, the throw out bearing I had from a clutch kit,
One of the ears busted off, and then some how punctured a hole in the casing,
so my fluid eventually slowly leaked out, and No idea it was from the trans.
So a couple days later, along with 5th popping out, my trans locked up, pretty much died.
Possibly, if things break off of the t.bearing, you could fuck stuff up inside.

After researching some more, i'm learning this could be a bad slave cylinder? or the slave cylinder needs lube.
what do you think?
