Hey I have a D16z6 in a 89 rex ? I have everything for it expect the cam gear. My question is can anyother cam gear from any other SOHC fit on that motor. I was told a 88 - 91 Si Cam Gear will fit and work fine but i dont know never heard that before !!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it will fit the dx and si are the same.

 

don't use a gear from a 96-up sohc
they are a half tooth different

 

If you actually look at the aftermarket cam gears, you'll see that they say they're for '88-'95 and '96-'00.
