CRX alignment
hey i just bought a 89 CRX DX last week. SO i was in the shop to day installing a new clutch and flywheel, the guy at the shop told me that if my alignment is messed up that i can't really fix it... because there is a long panel w/ two rods sticking out from it. Is that true?
It would take more detail than that to know for sure what you mean, but it almost sounds like he's referring to the caster being limited by the front radius arms. With washers and new bushings you actually can adjust the caster on a CRX. There are even radius arm replacements that are threaded and adjustable.
The toe can be adjusted like almost any car, just by turning the tie rods.
Dont worry about what he said, you can do tons of stuff with the CRX alignment.

In stock form, the camber and caster of a 2nd-gen CRX cannot be changed.
That said, it is trivially easy to add positive camber to the rear--just get longer bolts and washers where the upper lateral arm mounts to the chassis!
It is less easy to change the front camber and the caster, but it can be done with aftermarket parts.
Don't worry about it, though. You shouldn't need to change that stuff unless you really mod the car, or you run into something, or you get heavy into racing.
